Thomas Cook is one of the most widely recognised and respected brand names of foreign exchange and money services in the world. With a history dating back to 1841, Thomas Cook is today a leading International Financial Services group in the United States and outside the U.S. is a leading International Travel Agency. Our customers have access to services at more than 3,000 locations in over 100 countries.

More than 14,000 people are employed by Thomas Cook around the world. Every year, they serve over 20 million customers, ranging from leisure travellers seeking the ideal vacation, to major international corporations looking for better ways to do business with the world.

In addition to its Worldwide Network of locations, Thomas Cook Direct in the UK, Canada and Australia also provide holiday/vacation travel bookings. Throughout all aspects of its business, Thomas Cook has a clear mission - to provide "Exceptional Service from Exceptional People." The company prides itself on the enviable reputation it has earned in seeking to fulfil that mission. The Thomas Cook Group is 100% owned by Westdeutsche Landesbank, Germany's third largest bank. Thomas Cook's worldwide headquarters is at 45 Berkeley Street, Piccadilly. London W1A 1EB, United Kingdom. In 1995 the company achieved gross sales of more than £21 billion.

With the goal of achieving leadership in the provision of financial services, directly and through intermediaries, to people on the move, as well as people and corporations moving money around the world, Thomas Cook's Worldwide Financial Services division encompasses the world's largest supplier of travellers cheques outside the US, and the largest retail foreign exchange network in the world.

The Foreign Exchange network comprises more than 1,000 bureaux in 26 countries where customers can purchase and sell travellers cheques, currency bank notes and international money transfers.

The travellers cheque is one of the most enduring legacies of Thomas Cook, the company's founder, who developed its precursor, the Circular Note, in 1874. Today, Thomas Cook offers travellers cheques in the widest range of currencies available. Thomas Cook also purchases encashed travellers cheques and bank notes from other organisations through its Wholesale Foreign Exchange business. This operation also provides international and local banking customers, as well as the company's own bureaux, with bulk amounts of currency notes. Foreign exchange services, providing international drafts and wires, forward contracts and other products to corporations in North America, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, are also available through Thomas Cook. For 154 years, Thomas Cook has been committed to providing customers with dedicated customer service.

Online solutions, such as Virtual Trading Desk, offer a new level of convenience and ease of use for those doing business around the world. Other such solutions are currently under development.

Thomas Cook globally has endorced children's charities as a worthwhile cause. In North America, we've supported UNICEF's Change for Good campaign. Since 1991, over $12 million has been raised and is also active in Canada in promoting Save the Children.
